The Florida Frontiersmen mourn the loss of one of our Brothers:

Mitch Mitchel

"Our beloved Mitch passed on Thursday 2/12 just before 2am." (e-mail from Dana Bearry)

Mitch had many titles: Husband, Father, Grandfather, Florida Frontiersmen, Alafia Ranger, Blacksmith, Friend, Gator Fan and many many other titles. He was a hard working, honorable man. You always knew where you stood with Mitch he was a "straight shooter".

Please show your support for Mary and the family by attending a Remembrance Viewing on Thursday Feb. 19th from 6 – 8 pm at Robarts Family Funeral Home, 529 W. Main Street, Wachula.

A memorial service will be held Saturday Feb. 21st, 11 am, at the Florida Frontiersmen range in Homeland.  Primitive dress at the memorial service would be appreciated, but is not required. A cover-dish lunch will be served after the memorial.

Flowers should be sent to Robarts in Wachula (863) 773-9773

I’m Free

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free
I’m following the path God has laid you see.
I took His hand when I heard him call
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work, to play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found that peace at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Oh yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I savored much
Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and peace to thee
God wanted me now; He set me free.
