The Beautiful Photography of Erin Freeman
Alafia 2009

This was actually New Years Day at the Taylor's House Blessing. It was such a beautiful picture I had to include it.

Charlie and Leather Betty, both are long time Florida Frontiersmen members.

Two lovely ladies Nita and Dana Bearry

A special dinner for all the hard working Florida Frontiersmen!

Missy Clark....she is always dressing us!
Thanks, Missy what would we do without all those beautiful clothes you make.

I would know that smile anywhere....the huggable Katy Arrowood

There was a "Dulcimer Gathering" on the commons , Sunday afternoon.

Our own Booshway Suz and the always camera shy but she can't run while she is playing , Julie.

The whole gang

The lovely Erin...the author of these photographs and her husband Tygh, one of theChief Dog Soldiers.

The Saturday night Dance is always a hit!

Pounder and Jess

The Graves' are relaxing and smokin' now but just wait til next year when they are in charge! They will really be smokin' then. By the way the motto they picked for next year is "Keep the Fire Burnin'". Appropriate don't you think?

There is Jeff , he is one of the hardest working guys in camp. If anyone needs a hand Jeff will be there to help. Thanks Jeff for all you do!

Well there goes Butch....he had a "real good time" at the Ladies Tea.

This is our Booshway, Suz and Missy Clark. They are two of the finest ladies and historians that I know.

Okay, Charlie and Suz....y'all are having too much fun!
The Chapman's were the heart of our 2009 Alafia. They were the perfect hosts and did a really great job

Some thin's cookin'.

The noble Clann Wolf

Highland Games. I believe this is called the Haggis Toss.

Awesome action picture

The Court Crew!

They don't call him the "Hangin' Judge" for nothing....the trouble is he is hanging one of the good guys!

Cap'n Boots trying to look innocent in front of the Judge.

Thursday night is always the Native American Celebration Night. It is a night to celebrate the Native American Culture. Everyone is invited to come into the circle and dance in fellowship and friendship.

Our Booshways enjoying the Native American dance

The Good Wife Clark.
The talented Missy Clark does a first person presentation of a
18th century camp follower.

Missy's portrayal of a wife and mother locked up for her outspoken sense of freedom and duty was very touching. She sits down to write a letter about the injustice done to her and other women like her. The premise is taken from an actual 18th century letter.

Speaking of talent! This is Yannig Tanguy. He came all the way from New York and brought with him a bake oven, an upright piano, this strange looking instrument and his fiddle! By the way he can play all of them really, really well!

Sally and the Hamjo's Great entertainment for our visitors!

Sally and the Hamjo's Also performed for the camp on Friday night!

Bundled up to say warm and pretty!

An appreciative audience

Joey Hall and Friends are always an Alafia favorite

Closing Ceremony means it is all over until next year...sniff sniff
It is always sad to say goodbye.

Who knows what the year will bring, but the good Lord willing

we will all return again for the 2010 Alafia.
Even if it is only in spirit,

We will return to Keep the Spirit Alive.....For The Shining Times!
Thank you Erin for the use of your photos for the website!
